Skills upgrade for seafarers in Synergy Group

Synergy Group ties up with maritime training pioneer Seably to provide training for its seafarers

One of the world’s leading ship management companies, the Synergy Group, has joined hands with online marketplace provider Seably to provide digital maritime training for its seafarers. The international group, which is headquartered in Singapore, employs more than 18,000 seafarers around the world and manages a fleet of more than 500 vessels.

Coming at the right time
The decision for the digital platform for the benefit of their employees comes timely, as seafarers would need to keep updated with the latest technologies and have the necessary skills to perform their roles at sea with confidence.

Synergy’s Chief Commercial Officer reiterated the company’s commitment to invest in their seafarers, and for the long-term benefit of the company, “Continuous learning is at the heart of our culture at Synergy – and our commitment to helping our people upskill and thrive in an everchanging world. Our engagement with Seably reflects our joint interests and shared values in putting seafarers first and improving safety at sea. Seably’s exciting new seafarer-centric digital training platform is the perfect vehicle for ongoing learning, training and development.”

The new digital training platform is also customized to the needs and hectic work schedules of seafarers, with mobile content that can be used on all devices without the need for online connectivity. Synergy employees will also be able to access company-owned content as well as over 270 courses crafted by industry specialists to cover a wide range of topics and skills, such as specialized wellness programmes and exclusive courses for the maritime industry.  This would enable Synergy’s seafarers to upgrade their skills and knowledge anytime and anywhere, with any device they have.
